The event was well attended by students from the second year to the upper sixth and featured favourite poems from Shakespeare, Donne and Kipling as well as the students’ own recent work. In love, out of love, unrequited love, lost love – it was all powerfully evoked. Undoubtedly the most memorable performance was Jack Moran’s rapid, rhythmical, superbly remembered, delivery of his own love poem – an exceptional creative achievement – but many students across the age range produced impressive original contributions to this lively event. St. Valentine’s Day chocolates and love lollies were appreciated too. |

On Friday the 12th February the English Department held their annual Lunchtime of Love, a festival of love poetry old and new, to prepare students for St. Valentine’s Day.
