Active ImageThis term’s charity events in aid of Cancer Research UK have proved very successful so far with several forms still completing their fundraising.

The Prep form’s incredible organisation ensured they won the Money Snake Competition with 4½ lengths of the hall! The CCF Rifle Shooting competition worked well and the Cake Sales during the open events raised £290, a school record for such an event.

Active ImageOther events have included auctions during form time, guess the number of sweets in a jar or the weight of the gorilla, and some 6th form boys are being sponsored to wax their legs! Our ‘in-school’ total is currently around £600 and counting but it is certain that it will be eclipsed by the wonderful donation expected from the Sponsored Row – watch out for the announcement later in the term.

In other news, an additional £627 has been donated to Diabetes UK as a result of selling refreshments during the hockey match in memory of OK Daniel Kenn. The successful fundraising last term for Help the Heroes, led by U6 student Saarim Siddiqi, is continuing this term with a wrist band and cake sale. He is very close to the £2000 mark which is a wonderful achievement.
